
Three Frogs advance in first day of All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. - Three TCU men's tennis players won their opening round matches on Saturday to advance in the first day of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships at the Case Tennis Center.
Kriegler Brink, Zach Nichols and Adrian Simon all received first round byes and won their second round matches to advance to the third round of the prequalifying draw. Brink defeated Bijan Hejazi of UC-Santa Barbara 6-2, 6-3. Nichols won by walkover against Chris Rea of Mississippi, while fellow TCU newcomer Simon earned a 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Jose Moncada of DePaul.
"That's the best match Kriegler has played from beginning to end," said TCU head coach Dave Borelli. "I'm also pleased with how Adrian has the ability to play the close matches well. I'm really happy with where we are right now as a team, and how much we have improved over the past year."
The three TCU netters will return to action in the third round on Sunday. The Frogs need two wins to advance to the qualifying draw.
