Besovic and Sydorska advance to semifinals at USTA event

FORT WORTH, Texas - Current TCU women's tennis player Anna Sydorska teamed up with former Horned Frog Helena Besovic to defeat Jessica and Megan Alexander of Dallas, 6-4, 7-6(4), on Thursday night at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center to advance to the semifinals of the Baylor All Saints Pro Tennis Classic.
Besovic and Sydorska began their run on Wednesday by defeating the No. 2 seeded team of Nina Munch-Soegaard and Ashley Weinhold in the opening round. The duo will return to action on Friday when they will meet the No. 4 team of Dominika Dieskova and Courtney Nagle.
TCU junior Macall Harkins was also in action on Thursday night, as the Palos Verdes, Calif., native fell to No. 5 Ellah Nze, 6-4, 6-2. Harkins won three matches in the qualifying draw and defeated Sydorska in the opening round of the main draw on Wednesday.
