TCU women cruise past Air Force, 7-0

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The No. 35 TCU women's tennis team recorded their second consecutive shutout in conference play on Saturday with a 7-0 defeat of Air Force at the Lobo Tennis Club. The win improved the Horned Frogs to 15-8 overall and 6-1 in MWC play, while dropping Air Force to 10-14 on the season and 0-7 in conference action.
"This was a good win for us today," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "Everybody focused and took care of what they had to do to play their best. This will help us continue to build momentum as we head towards the end of the season."
The duo of Anna Sydorska and Nina Munch-Soegaard grabbed the first doubles victory for the Frogs as they blanked Air Force's Christine Abayan and Lauren Wilson, 8-0.
Andrea Morgado and Karine Ionesco clinched the doubles point for TCU with an 8-3 victory over Meghan Kiser and Erlyn Rudico at the No. 3 position, while Ana Cetnik and Kewa Nichols completed the sweep with an 8-4 win over Kelly Morgan and Jennifer Walters.
No. 43 Cetnik led off singles action with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Wilson at the No. 3 slot, grabbing her ninth consecutive singles win. Morgado followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Walters to put the Frogs up 3-0.
Karine Ionesco clinched the win for TCU as the senior defeated Rudico 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 6 spot. No. 58 Sydorska would follow with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kiser playing at the No. 2 postion.
Nichols knocked off Morgan 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 4 slot to notch her 11th consecutive singles victory. The streak is the longest recorded by a Horned Frog this season.
No. 93 Munch-Soegaard completed the sweep of Air Force as the freshman defeated Abayan 6-3, 6-0.
