
Cotet qualifies for All-American main draw

TULSA, Okla. - Cosmin Cotet, a senior on the TCU men's tennis team, fell in the third round of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships' qualifying draw on Wednesday, but received an alternate spot to compete in the opening round of the main draw on Thursday.
Cotet fell in a tough match to No. 17-24 Jack Baker of South Alabama by a score of 6-4, 7-5 in the third round of the qualifying draw. Cotet will receive a trip to the main draw due to being the first alternate, and will face No. 2 Steven Moneke of Ohio State at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Cotet faced Moneke last season at the Rice Invitational, falling 6-1, 6-1.
Cotet and Kriegler Brink will begin doubles play in the main draw on Thursday at 5 p.m. against Drake's Dalibor Pavic and Maor Zirkin, who advanced from the qualifying draw. Ranked No. 22 in the nation, Brink and Cotet went 16-4 together last season.
