
Brink wins two matches to advance to qualifying draw

TULSA, Okla. - Kriegler Brink, a junior on the TCU men's tennis team, won two matches on Sunday to advance to the qualifying draw of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships.
After a first-round bye and a second-round victory over Bijan Hejazi of UC-Santa Barbara on Saturday, Brink earned a third-round win over Thiago Dos Santos of Wichita State, 6-3, 6-1. Brink advanced to the main draw with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Nathan Byrnes of Oklahoma State.
Zach Nichols, a freshman from Austin, Texas, earned a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 win over Brad Mixson of Florida State in the third round before falling one match short in a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Phillip Eilers of Indiana.
Adrian Simon, another TCU newcomer, fell to No. 4 Ted Angelinos (Virginia) 6-2, 6-2 in the third round.
The singles qualifying draw will begin on Monday, as Cosmin Cotet and Kriegler Brink will represent the Horned Frogs. Brink and Cotet, ranked No. 22 nationally, will also compete in the doubles main draw beginning on Wednesday, while Nichols and Simon will team up in the qualifying draw starting on Tuesday.
