
TCU set to host SMU on Thursday

FORT WORTH, Texas - Having won four of its last six matches, the TCU soccer team returns home for a match against SMU at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Horned Frogs (4-4-0) are coming off a weekend where they split a pair of games with a 2-1 win over Sam Houston State and a 4-0 loss at Nebraska.
TCU will open its two-match homestand with a rare Thursday meeting with cross-town rival SMU (5-2-1). The match will mark TCU's first match not played on a Friday or Sunday this season.
Thursday's match is $1 hot dog night for fans wearing purple or TCU apparel. Fans in attendance will also receive a Karissa Hill trading card at the gate.
The match will also be webcast for free on GoFrogs.com. In addition, the match can also be heard on 88.7 KTCU with RJ Choppy of 103.3 ESPN handling the play-by-play and former TCU soccer player Jackie Rodriguez providing the color commentary.
When TCU hosts SMU, the Horned Frogs will be bidding for their first victory over their cross-town rival in 25 previous meetings. Since the beginning of both programs in 1986, SMU is 23-0-2 all-time against TCU.
TCU tied SMU in 2002 (1-1 2OT) and in 1986 (2-2). Both of the ties have come in Fort Worth, where TCU is 0-12-2 against the Mustangs.
SMU is 5-2-0 this season and have won two straight matches and three of its last four. SMU is allowing just 1.07 goals per game and have shutout four opponents this season. SMU has advanced to five straight NCAA Tournaments and are led by third-year head coach John Cossaboon.
Tickets for the match are $5 for adults and $3 for youth.
