
Lacy earns second MWC Player of the Week honor

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU guard Natasha Lacy was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, the league office announced. Lacy, a 5-10 junior from El Paso, Texas, averaged 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals over two games to help the Lady Frogs defeat Utah and UNLV.
On Thursday, she scored the game-winning basket with 2.1 seconds left to lift TCU over the 17th-ranked Utes, 63-62, in Salt Lake City. In the contest, Lacy recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and notched her 450th career assist to extend her school record, which she set against BYU on Feb. 25.
Against UNLV, the second-team all-conference performer tallied 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists. For the week, Lacy shot 44.0 percent from the field (11-for-25), including 6-for-9 from the charity stripe (.667).
Lacy is the only player in the league ranked in the top four in scoring (14.5 ppg), rebounding (7.4 rpg) and assists (4.0 apg). She previously earned MWC Player of the Week accolades on Jan. 2.
