TCU sweeps SMU, 7-0

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 12 TCU women's tennis team improved to 4-2 with a 7-0 victory over SMU on Wednesday.
The Frogs, for the second-straight match, swept the doubles competition. The tandem of Nicole Leimbach and Ana Cetnik recorded the first win for TCU with an 8-1 triumph at No. 2.
Sophomore Andrea Morgado and junior Karine Ionesco clinched the doubles point with an 8-3 victory at No. 3 over Kristen Reid and Georgiana Marta.
Ranked 40th in the ITA poll, the team of senior Helena Besovic and freshman Anna Sydorska won a tough 8-5 match over Natalia Bubien and Svetlana Kouzmenko of SMU.
Leimbach, ranked fifth in the ITA poll for singles, scored the first win for the Horned Frogs in singles play by defeating Natalia Bubien 6-0, 1-0 ret. at No. 1. Leimbach is 2-0 in singles after missing the first four matches of the spring season.
TCU moved to a 3-0 match advantage after Besovic's 6-0, 6-3 defeat of Kouzmenko.
Cetnik clinched the match for the Frogs with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 over Marta. The Belgrade, Serbia, product is 5-1 on the season.
Sydorska and senior Gloriann Lopez also posted wins in singles.
The Frogs return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 22, when they travel to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
