TCU women's tennis defeats Tulsa, 6-1

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 12 TCU women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in dual matches with a 6-1 defeat of Tulsa on Saturday. Sophomore Nicole Leimbach, ranked fifth in the ITA polls, recorded a pair of wins.
The Frogs gained a 1-0 advantage after sweeping the doubles competition. The doubles tandem of senior Helena Besovic and freshman Anna Sydorska knocked off the Golden Hurricanes' Kindsay Grimes and Daniela Muscolino 8-2 at No. 1.
Junior Karine Ionesco and sophomore Andrea Morgado followed with an 8-4 triumph over Agostina Santoro and Tiffany Smith at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point for TCU.
Leimbach and junior Ana Cetnik won by a score of 8-7(1) to finish out the doubles competition.
The match tally moved to 2-0 after sophomore Kewa Nichols defeated Smith 6-2, 6-1 at No 5. Leimbach put the Frogs within one point of a victory with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 1 over Muscolino.
Besovic clinched the match for the Frogs with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 versus Delport.
With the win, TCU improved to 3-2 on the season. The Frogs return to action on Wednesday as they host the SMU Mustangs. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
