
TCU women's tennis wraps up tournament play

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's tennis team concluded its first weekend of fall play Saturday at two separate events. Gloriann Lopez and Andrea Morgado were defeated in the singles and doubles quarterfinals of the Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas. Ana Cetnik was beaten in the doubles final of an International Tennis Federation event in Matamoros, Mexico, playing with former collegiate partner Story Tweedie-Yates.Lopez was dropped by No. 1-seeded Carolina Walter of Baylor at the Baylor Invitational by scores of 6-2, 6-2. Walter is ranked No. 29 in the nation. Walter's teammate Zuzan Cerna, seeded third, was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Morgado. The SMU duo of Natalia Bubien and Svetlana Kouzmenko defeated Lopez and Morgado in doubles, 8-5.
Cetnik and Tweedie-Yates suffered a 6-4, 6-4 setback at the hands of Daniela Gallegos and Paula Zabala.
Next up on the schedule for the Horned Frogs is a tournament hosted by North Texas over Sept. 23-25.
