FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU Women's Soccer Head Coach Dan Abdalla is seven practices into his first season as the leader of the Frogs. He is pleased so far with how practices have been going. He is inviting all Frog fans to get a sneak preview of the 2005 squad Tuesday when it plays an exhibition match against Texas Wesleyan at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium. Match time is set for 1 p.m. and admission is free.
Coach Abdalla and junior midfielder Karissa Hill took some time to answer a few questions about practices so far.
Coach Abdalla on Saturday morning's practice:
"Today was nice for us because the kids recovered from an extremely difficult day of practice yesterday. We challenged them with some fitness testing this morning and they stepped up big time. It's nice since that they put in such hard work, we were able to step back a bit from training and have some fun out there."
Coach Abdalla on the players:
"A couple of players that have really stepped up for us this past week have been Karissa Hill and Angie Nickens. They have set a good example for the younger players. Out of the freshmeen, Caroline Starns has really made a huge impression. Howevery, they have all done really well for us."
Coach Abdalla on prep for Tuesday's exhibition:
"We'll look to give them a little bit of a break on Sunday. After four days of hard work, they've earned a break and some recovery time. We are using Tuesday's scrimmage to try a bunch of different things and see where we are."
Karissa Hill on the practices:
"Our practices are high intensity workouts. If we work hard and do things right the first time, the faster we can get done with practice."
Karissa Hill on the team:
"Everyone is working hard. We all encourage each other to do our best and that has created a great team spirit and attitude."
Karissa Hill on the progression of the team:
"Our workouts are progressing very well. I feel like we are getting better everyday while working towards becoming a better team."
