FORT WORTH, Texas - Included below is a visit with TCU men's tennis' Jacopo Tezza. A senior from Verona, Italy, Tezza is paired with Rafael Abreu in doubles competition and their team is currently ranked No. 35 in the country.
Q: What are some of your goals for the 2005-06 season?
A: I have high expectations for the season. We have been practicing extremely hard and I am sure that all of the work will pay off. The most important thing to do is go out and give my best and stay consistent all season. Also, I am a senior this season so I want to help the new guys and help them get comfortable in a new surrounding.
Q: Do you have any pre-game and/or in game rituals?
A: Whenever I win a match, I try to walk the same way home from the tennis center. During the match, if I hit a shot on the line I try not to walk on the baseline on my way back to serve.
Q: What is the best part of being a TCU student-athlete?
A: It is an honor to wear the colors and represent TCU. No matter where you go, people know who you are and it is great to serve as a face and represent the university.
Q: Who is your favorite tennis player?
A: I don't really have a favorite, but I greatly admire (Andre) Agassi. He is 35-years-old and is still as hungry as the day he began.
