CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Kim Ortega scored a career-high 22 points Sunday to lead No. 22 TCU to a 100-91 victory over Charlotte, the Lady Frogs' seventh win in their last eight games.
Tiffany Evans added 20 points and Ebony Shaw had 18 for TCU (20-4, 9-2 Conference USA). Sandora Irvin finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds while reserve Tracy Wynn had 10 points for TCU.
Andrea Daniels led Charlotte (14-10, 7-4) with 19 points. Pam Brown and Leslie Cook each had 16 points for the 49ers, while Monica League added 12.
Peaches Harris had 10 points to go over the 1,000-point plateau for her career.
TCU trailed 53-51 at halftime but started the second half with a 19-8 run. The Lady Frogs were able to beat the 49ers down the court several times for easy layups.
Ortega's 3-pointer with 3:04 left gave TCU an insurmountable 90-78 lead.
Charlotte took the lead in the first half by making 11 of 18 3-point attempts. The 49ers were just 4-for-15 from behind the 3-point arc in the second.
