LUBBOCK, Texas (August 31, 2001) -- The TCU women's soccer team opened the 2001 season with a 2-1 overtime road win against the Texas Tech Red Raiders at R.P. Fuller Stadium Friday night. The Horned Frogs have now won their season opener in each of the past four seasons.

The Frogs got on the board first with a goal from junior midfielder Lori Robbins in the 31st minute of play. True freshman Cara Toulouse captured an assist on the score for her first career point.

Clinging to a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute, TCU senior midfielder Jenn Coulson committed a costly error by picking up a yellow card in the Frogs' penalty box. The Red Raiders' Kerri Campbell capitalized on the penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1.

With six and a half minutes remaining in overtime, TCU freshman Cara Toulouse headed in the game-winner off a corner kick taken by senior Tiffany Goetz.

After the match TCU head coach Dave Rubinson said, "This was a great win for us tonight and a great way to start the season. A win like this can really get things going for us."

TCU plays its next match at home against Oklahoma this Sunday, September 2, at 6 p.m. at the Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
