ATHENS, Georgia (May 27, 2001) -- The 16th-ranked TCU doubles team of senior Trace Fielding and sophomore Jimmy Haney saw their hopes of wearing an NCAA doubles crown dashed Sunday afternoon by Georgia's fourth-ranked Matias Boeker and Travis Parrott in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
Fielding and Haney lost the first set 6-4, and could not recover from there, dropping the second 6-2 to finish the year with an overall record of 17-12.
By reaching the quarters of the doubles championships, Fielding and Haney earned All-American honors, the first for either player. This is TCU's first All-American doubles team since Jason Weir-Smith and Ashley Fisher accomplished the feat in 1997.
