Women's Tennis Advances In WAC Tournament

Fresno, Calif. (April 27, 2001) - Second-seed TCU defeated seventh-seeded Rice, 4-0, Friday, in the first round of the Women's Tennis WAC Championship Tournament hosted by Fresno State. The 25th-ranked Horned Frogs' win streak now moves to 15 and their record improves to 18-3. TCU will face third-seed Tulsa at noon (CDT) Saturday, in a rematch of last year's championship match. Tulsa defeated UTEP, 4-0, on Friday.
In other WAC tournament action Friday, first-seed Fresno State defeated eighth-seed Hawai'i, 4-0, while fourth-seed SMU defeated fifth-seed Nevada, 4-0.
