South Carolina grabbed the lead early by claiming the doubles point with wins at one and two doubles, each by a dominating 8-2 score. At three doubles, the Frogs picked up a win thanks to junior Leoni Weirich and freshman Paty Aburto. The pair remains undefeated on the year at 10-0 overall and 7-0 in dual matches.
The Frogs stormed back in the singles competition with wins at the two, three, five and six spots. The most impressive of those victories was at two singles where freshman Paty Aburto came back to beat No. 86 Katarina Markovski in three sets after being blanked in the first set. The TCU freshman is now an impressive 17-3 this season, as is fellow freshman Karolina Roubickova who raised her singles win streak to nine matches with her win on Sunday.
TCU will stay on the road for its next match on Saturday, March 24, when they take on No. 52 Central Florida at 9:30 a.m. Central Time.
