* For the first time ever, TCU earned mention in the preseason national rankings. Here is where the team was listed to start the campaign: Associated Press - 35th (35 votes) ESPN/USA Today Coaches - 35th (50 votes) Women's Basketball Magazine - 15th Street & Smith's College Basketball - 17th
Against the Best
* Oklahoma is currently rated third in the nation according to the Associated Press and fourth in the ESPN/USA Today poll. TCU recorded its first-ever victory over a top 25 team last season, when the 11th-seeded Frogs upset sixth-seeded and 222nd-ranked Penn State 77-75 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Frogs were 1-3 against top 25 teams last year. Head coach Jeff Mittie has beaten five ranked teams in his career.
Sooner or Later
* TCU is 1-7 all-time against Oklahoma and 9-128 all-time vs. schools that currently comprise the Big 12. Since the formation of the Big 12 in 1996-97, TCU is 1-4 against the conference's schools, including 0-1 against the Sooners.

* Kati Safaritova (7-of-9) and Sandora Irvin (7-of-11) were 14-for-20 (.700) from the floor against Oregon. However, their teammates were just 8-for-41 (.196) shooting from the field in the loss.
Forget About It
* The Frogs haves given up just 57.7 points per game this season, with only Oregon managing to score more than 50 points in a game. Sam Houston shot just 27.6 percent from the field, while Air Force hit 26.0 percent.

* TCU has recorded 24 blocked shots in the first three games of the season (8.0 per game). Last year, TCU set a school record with 136 blocks on the season (4.1 per contest).
Hitting the Century Mark
* Against Sam Houston State, TCU reached the 100-point mark for the first time since putting up 101 against Columbia on Dec. 29, 1999, a span of 40 games. It was the ninth 100-point game in school history. In addition, it was the 17th time that a Jeff Mittie team has reached the century mark.
Taking It to the Streets
* The Lady Frogs are playing the final game of a three-game road swing. Following the trip, TCU returns home for a nine-game homestand that begins with Prairie View A&M on Nov. 30 and runs until the Santa Clara game on Jan. 3.
That Seventies Show
* TCU is 2-0 when scoring at least 70 points this season and 0-1 when falling short of the mark. In Coach Mittie's three seasons as head coach, the Frogs are 33-5 (.868) when reaching the 70-point plateau and 10-18 (.357) when failing to do so. On the flip side, Mittie's TCU teams are 40-6 (.870) when holding opponents under 70 points and 3-17 (.150) when allowing at least 70.
Sandora Shines
* Sandora Irvin, the first-ever High School All-American to play for the Lady Frogs, has been impressive in her first three collegiate outings. In the opener, she fell just two rebounds shy of the first 20-20 effort in school history, finishing with 22 points and 18 rebounds in just 21 minutes of play. Irvin had her second straight double-double against Air Force with 10 points and 14 boards and then led the team in scoring with 20 points at Oregon. She currently leads the team in scoring (17.3 ppg), rebounding (13.0) and blocks (4.0). She was nominated for Conference USA Player of the Week honors for her efforts.

* Junior transfer Candace Baldwin, sophomore Tiffany Evans, sophomore Ebony Shaw and freshman Sandora Irvin each made their first career start against Sam Houston, while senior Ashanti Nix had the first start of her career at Oregon. Heading into the season, only Kati Safaritova (32 starts in 2000-01) had started a game at TCU.
Spreading the Wealth
* The Lady Frogs have been led in scoring by a different player each of their three games this season. Grace Gantt (25 vs. Sam Houston), Kati Safaritova (13 at Air Force) and Sandora Irvin (20 vat Oregon.)

Payne-ful Beginning
* TCU senior guard Tricia Payne suffered a torn ACL in her left knee less than 30 minutes into the first practice of the year. She underwent successful surgery on October 31 and will miss the entire 2001-02 season. Payne was last year's team MVP and ranks sixth on the school's all-time scoring list.
Pair of P's Redshirting
* Freshman Lindsey Prewitt, who at 6-8 is the tallest player to ever play for the Lady Frogs, will redshirt the 2001-02 season. She joins forward Amy Pack, who must sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules. Pack, who played two seasons at UTEP, was the leading scorer in the WAC in 2000-01.
