Wagner and Soccer Frogs Blank Alabama, 1-0

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (September 15, 2000) -- Freshman goalkeeper Shannon Wagner recorded her third shutout of the season on Friday afternoon, September 15, when the Horned Frogs defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide 1-0. With the win, the Frogs improved to 5-2-1 on the year.
The only goal of the game came in the 32nd minute of play, when freshman midfielder Jenny Swanson kicked a loose ball over the head of Alabama goalie Tasha Denecke. The Frogs defense took care of the rest and Wagner did her part to ensure the TCU victory.
Shannon Wagner ended the game with five saves and lowered her goals against average on the season to 1.05. Wagner has played all 770:20 of the Frogs minutes this season.
TCUs next match will be played in Norman, Oklahoma this Sunday when the Frogs take on the Sooners at 1 p.m. The women will then travel to North Carolina to play Duke on Friday, September 22, at 7 p.m., and then the top-ranked Tar Heels on Sunday, September 24, at 1 p.m.
