Women's Soccer Edges Out Texas Tech, 3-2

Jennifer Maunder answered Wile's goal three minutes later after two spectacular passes from forward Sherry Dick and midfielder Lori Robbins. After four goals being scored in less than twelve minutes, the scoring finally ceased until late in the second half when TCU's Jenn Coulson scored the game winning goal on an assist from midfielder Jeanine Rogers.
Texas Tech ended the game outshooting the Frogs 19 to eleven. The Red Raiders had a total of 16 shots on goal, but TCU freshman goalkeeper Shannon Wagner recorded 14 saves on her way to her second career victory. Texas Tech goalie Brittney Peese started the game, but had to leave in the second period after diving for a ball and being kicked in the face by a TCU player. She was replaced by JoDee Campbell, who later gave up the game winning goal.
The women improved their record to 2-1 on the season. Next up for the Frogs is the Longhorns of Texas. The game will be played in Austinat 7 p.m. The Horned Frogs return home on Tuesday, September 5, to take on Centenary at 3 p.m. The men will also play Centenary that day following the women's game.
