AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 31 -- TCUs Womens Soccer team fell to the Longhorns of Texas on Thursday night, August 31, 3-2. With the loss, the Frogs fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Longhorns improved to 2-1 for the year.

The University of Texas scored two goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead going in to halftime. In the 64th minute of the second half, the Horned Frogs got on the board after sophomore forward Sherry Dick scored on a direct kick. For Dick, it was her second goal of the season. Twelve minutes later, the Longhorns responded with another goal, this one being scored by freshman midfielder Emily Kelp. TCU made one final push when senior defender Jackie Rodriguez scored on a corner kick taken by junior midfielder Jenn Coulson in the 81st minute of play.

After the match, TCU head coach David Rubinson shared his thoughts on the Frogs loss saying, We are too kind to the opposition sometimes and we didnt play well in the first half. However, Rubinson ended on a positive note saying, I think that the second half was our best half of soccer this year. Our girls were motivated and much more aggressive.

TCU will play its next match against Centenary on Tuesday, September 5, at 3 p.m. at the Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. The men will will also play Centenary that day following the womens match.
