TCU Women Seventh After Day One in Tennessee

The freshman duo of Courtney Wood and Brooke Tull is boosting the Frogs, as both women are among the top 20 individuals after day one. After scorching the back nine for a 36, Wood is tied for 15th with a score of 76. Tull sits tied for 19th overall with a card of 77, including a 36 on the first nine holes.
Senior Brenda Anderson (79), junior Amy Sands (79) and sophomore Shannon Barr (84) complete the Horned Frogs roster. TCU shot a collective 311 for the first round, which is 23 shots over par.
Second-ranked Duke leads the 15-team field with a 12-over-par 300, two strokes ahead of fourth-ranked Tennessee (302). Of the 15 teams, seven are ranked in the most recent MasterCard Top 25 poll.
Play at the 5,985-yard, par-72 Gettysvue Polo Golf and Country Club continues tomorrow with 18 holes. The tournament concludes with Sunday's final round.
