TCU Defeats New Mexico 6-1 (2/22)

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Horned Frog tennis team, ranked 32 in the nation, defeated the New Mexico Lobos 6-1 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Sunday. The TCU netters earned their second consecutive victory in WAC play of the 1999 season, improving to 3-1 overall. In the #1 spot, 5th ranked Esteban Carril defeated Nicolas Dubey, 6-4, 6-2. Carril improves to 5-3 on the spring season. TCU's #1 doubles team of Esteban Carril and Martin Jirak defeated the Lobos's Pepe Caballero and Nicolas Dubey. The team of Carril and Jirak remain undefeated on the season with a 4-0 mark and are ranked 50th in the nation. TCU next plays UTA on February 23 at 2:00 p.m. in Arlington.
