Won the 2022 Triple Jump National Championship with a personal-best and new school-record mark of 17.26m (56-7.50), making it the second national title of his career … named a First Team All-American … entered the NCAA Outdoor Championships as the No. 1 seed after placing first at the NCAA West Regional with a mark of 17.07m (56-0) … won his third consecutive OTF Big 12 Championship and fifth Big 12 Championship overall with a leap of 16.84m (55-3.0) … started the season with a win at the Alumni Muster in the triple jump with a mark of 16.19m (53-1.50) … finished the season undefeated in four meets … wraps up his career at TCU as a two-time national champion and nine-time All-American.

Competed in six meets for TCU… Notched a third-place finish at the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships in the triple jump with a mark of 16.74m as he earned First Team All-America honors... Won the triple jump with a mark of 16.78m at the Texas A&M Team Invitational… Earned a first-place finish at the Big 12 Championships in the triple jump with a mark of 17.01m… Qualified for the NCAA Division I West Preliminaries and placed third in the triple jump.
2021 Indoor
Mapaya earned the national runner-up spot in the triple jump at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Mapaya's mark (16.95m / 55-7.5) broke Ndabazihle Mdhlongwa's Zimbabwe indoor triple jump record from 1998 (16.89m), as well as TCU's school record. His jump also noted a new indoor personal best for the Harare, Zimbabwe, native. The senior's previous best indoor jump was 16.85m (55-3.5) at the Texas Tech Shootout that set a TCU record earlier this year. One jump was all Mapaya needed to take the Big 12 triple jump crown. The senior leaped 16.55m (54-3.75) on his first attempt and passed on his final four.
2020 Indoor
Mapaya garnered a silver medal in the triple jump at the 2020 Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships (16.06m). In just his second collegiate long jump appearance, Mapaya placed 5th at the conference meet with a jump of 7.43m. Mapaya qualified for indoor nationals as the No. 5 seed in the triple jump and was named a USTFCCCA All-American.
