Miller is in his third season as assistant coach for pole vault and multis at TCU after coaching at various Texas high schools for the past 23 years.
Career Coaching Highlights

In just two years in Fort Worth, Miller has coached and elevated four Horned Frogs to school record holders.

Coached four individual state UIL high school champions in the pole vault and multiple UIL state qualifiers.
Career Highlights as a Student-Athlete

Graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992 with a BS in Kinesiology.

During his collegiate career as a pole vaulter he received two All-America honors and became only the second Longhorn in school history to clear 18 feet after achieving a personal best of 18’4.5”.

Competed in the 1992 U.S. Olympic Trials as well as the 1991 and 1993 U.S. Outdoor Championships.

Was a member of the 1991 US Olympic Festival South Team.

Warren Miller (Tolar ISD) - 2017 state pole vault champion at 15’3”. Currently competes for the University of Texas. Finished ninth in the pole vault at the 2019 Big 12 Outdoor Championships, and eighth at the 2020 Big 12 Indoor Championships.

Rodie Brister (Tolar ISD) - 2015 state pole vault champion at 15’3”.

Sarah Vann (Evant ISD) - State pole vault champion, three time state medal recipient. State pole vault record holder at 12’3”. Competed for UNT from 2010-2013 and Tarleton State in 2015.

Johnny Jackson (Gatesville ISD) - State pole vault champion at 16’2”.

Raegan Mabery (Tolar ISD) - Four state championship appearances under the guidance of Miller. Competed for Abilene Christian from 2016-2019.

Personal
Miller is married to his wife Crickett and has two sons, Warren and Wesley. Pole vaulting runs in the Miller family. In addition to his own success as a pole vaulter, Miller’s son, Warren, is a Texas state champion and three-time medalist with a personal-best 16’2”, while his cousin JJ Miller competed at the University of Texas and reached 18’1.5”.
