Michael Rice

Michael Rice is in his sixth season at TCU, his third season as assistant coach/scouting and analytics. He previously held the title of coordinator of video operations and analytics after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant for the TCU men’s basketball team.
In his role, Rice is responsible for providing the program with detailed analysis for potential recruits, existing players and opponents. He is also permitted to engage in coaching activities outside of recruiting.
Rice has been a part of the Horned Frogs program that has seen many firsts, including three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances (2022-24) and wins in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments (2022-23). From 2021-2024, TCU finished a program-best fifth in the Big 12.
With Rice’s help, the Frogs led the nation in fastbreak points in two-straight seasons (2022-24).
The Rumson, New Jersey native came to TCU after spending time at Game Seven Marketing in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Hoop Group in Neptune, New Jersey.
Rice was a two-time captain for the Franklin and Marshall men’s basketball team, which ranked No. 15 in NCAA DIII in 2017-18 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. Rice, who had 50 career starts at point guard, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Public Policy degree.
