Appel did not compete during the 2015-16 season, but did score an 80-76 victory over Fresno State during an exhibition ride in Equitation over Fences in February.

Appel, who was named to the prestigious Beval Saddlery Academic Team, competed in five meets during the course of the 2014-15 campaign, going 2-3 overall in Equitation over Fences, including 2-2 in conference meets ... She earned Honorable Mention honors as part of the Beval Saddlery Academic Team ... Saw action versus Oklahoma State during the fall season, defeating the Cowgirls' Allison Joyce, 83-79 ... Came back the next day to drop Kansas State's Henley Adkins, 83-78, to claim her second league victory of the year ... Also saw action versus Baylor and at K-State during Big 12 play.

Prep Career
Appel, a Plano native, came to Fort Worth after graduating from Spring Creek Academy. During her young career, Appel has earned multiple honors in Grand Prixs and High JR/AO classes ... She won the Thanksgiving Prix in Waco, while claiming runner-up accolades in the $25,000 Winter Series II Grand Prix ... In all, she was the youngest competitor in the prestigious competition, which was held in Katy, Texas, and was the only rider to have a clear round ... Appel came to TCU after competing in the North American Junior Young Rider Championships, while also claiming top-12 accolades at the first Grand Prix in 2010.
