Upshaw saw action in 13 meets her junior year... rode to an record of 4-4-1 in competitive rides... set a new career high of 86 in a tie against SMU on Rosie... rode to a record of 2-1 against Big 12 opponents... earned an honorable mention in the Farnam NCEA All-Academic Team selection... earned Academic All-Big 12 first team honors as well for her efforts in the classroom.

PREP CAREER
Upshaw brings an extensive resume with her to TCU as she has competed in Equitation and Hunter classes the last three years, including prestigious shows such as the Pessoa Hunt Seat Medal, the ASPCA Maclay and the WIHSA Junior Hunters ... Upshaw, who has competed and qualified for the USEF Medal Finals and Maclay Regionals, recently placed in the top-10 in both the WIHS Jumper Phase and Maclay at the Devon Horse Show and County Fair ... She finished No. 16 in the nation in Large Junior Hunters, while claiming seventh-place accolades at the 2015 Capital Challenge in Equitation ... Upshaw shined at the Springtime in Dixie, landing first-place honors in the WIHS Hunter Phase, Jumper Phase, Maclay and overall ... A multiple first-place honoree at both the Springtime in Encore, Brownland Summer I and II, Upshaw earned first overall at the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show in the WIHS Hunter Phase, overall and Open Equitation ... She also claimed first and Reserve Champion accolades at the ESP Holiday Finale in Adult Equitation, while posting multiple top-5 finishes in AO Hunter 18-35 at the WEF ... She has trained under Dave Pellegrini, Phoebe Sheets and Don Stewart ... Upshaw, who hails from Memphis, Tenn., and boasts a 4.27 GPA, is a part of several clubs at Hutchison School, including the Junior Cotillion, Peer Council Representatives and the United States Equestrian Federation as a high school athlete ... She has been class president and is a member of the Chinese Honor Society and Frances McIntosh Chapter of the National Honor Society ...
