Shelby Webb is in her first year as a volunteer assistant at TCU following a successful collegiate career at South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. Webb graduated this past spring tied for the SDSU record for wins in a season with eight, while ranking second all-time in career wins with 12 in Horsemanship.
The Hinton, Iowa native competed in nine of the 12 meets during her final year of competition for the Jackrabbits, securing victories over UT-Martin, TCU and Minnesota-Crookston. The 2012-13 NCEA All-Academic second team selection competed at the 2012-13 NCEA National Championships in Waco for South Dakota State where she tallied a win against UT-Martin in Horsemanship. She also finished fourth in the world in Amateur Western Pleasure and in Amateur Ideal Western, while recording a sixth-place finish in Amateur Disciplined Rail Western.
The two-time Miss Nebraska Pinto Queen honoree competed at American Paint Horse Association events in Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado and Minnesota in the summer of 2013. Webb also rode in Pinto Horse Association of America shows in Oklahoma and Nebraska, and at the prestigious Color Breed Congress in Tulsa, Okla., where she placed in the top-five.
During her time in Brookings, Webb, who was a multiple Dean's List honoree, served as the 2013-14 chapter president of Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society. She was also the campus vice president of American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences/Family Career and Community Leaders of America.
Webb also excelled inside the classroom as a member of Chi Omega sorority, Student National Education Association, Mortar Boart Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Golden Key International Honour Society. Finally, Webb served on the Little International staff and volunteered at Feeding Brookings, Harvest Table and for the Brookings Backpack Project.
