TCU Human Performance
Philosophy
The field of human performance is extremely dynamic and always changing. The one constant in our profession is the student athletes. Our number one goal is to make each student-athlete stronger, faster and more powerful in whatever sport they choose to participate in. By doing these things, we help prevent injury.
The sport specific training regiments are preventative in nature. As human professionals professionals, we are entrusted with the care and guidance of student athletes from across the country and mold them into elite world class athletes during their tenure at TCU.
Mission Statement
To provide a positive and energetic learning environment for student athletes and coaches. To train both body and mind, creating an interest and desire for human performance To assist every student athlete in achieving an optimum physical performance level, while preparing them for a lifetime of fitness.
Internship Program
The TCU Human Performance Internship Program provides a teaching foundation that offers interns a hands-on experience as well as prepares them to not only pursue a career, but also become a qualified strength and conditioning professional. The TCU Human Performance staff believes in providing a comprehensive educational opportunity where interns will have the opportunity to work with all 22 varsity athletics programs, which totals over 500 student-athletes.
Qualifications
One year of previous experience in a human performance program or have previous collegiate athletics experience; working towards a certification through NSCA or CSCAA; bachelor's degree or in process of earning bachelor's degree; strong desire to make strength and conditioning your desired profession.
Applicants
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. This is a non-paid position, but offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of human performance as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program.
