Bio
Outlook
LeMeita Smith continues to foster her talent in the middle. A blocker with good timing and long wingspan, she puts a stop to many attacks while swatting a quick attack of her own. Freshman Season (2004)
Smith made 20 appearances her freshman year. Offensively, she produced five kills with one error in nine attempts for a .444 against Harvard early in the season. On two occasions, Smith tallied two digs, while her biggest blocking night came against Grambling State, when she stopped five attacks. High School
Smith, a multi-sport athlete at Sam Houston, played volleyball under Teresa Frederick. She lettered three years in high school, earning all-district recognition each season. She was named her school[apos]s 'Blocker of the Year' as a junior and senior and 'Defensive Player of the Year' her final campaign. The U.S. Marine Corps recognized her with the 'Distinguished Athlete Award,' while the U.S. Army Reserve gave her a nod as a 'National Scholar Athlete,' both in 2004. Smith also lettered three years in basketball and helped the track team to a district championship during her four-year letterwinning tenure. Personal
Born on June 21, 1986, LeMeita Courtney Smith is the daughter of Joann and Le Smith. A TCU pre-major, Smith has three siblings: Toni, Rochell, and Aaliyah.
