2004 (Junior): Was the main guy behind the plate for the Frogs this season... played in 64 games starting 61... threw out a league-leading 24 runners trying to steal a base... finished the season with a .234 batting average... tallied 27 RBI on the campaign... struggled to get over the .200 mark for the first half of the season, but came on strong late... hit a home run on Feb. 7 against Dallas Baptist... moved his batting average over .200 against Memphis on 3-20 with a 3-for-5 performance... helped the Frogs to victory against Cincinnati on April 10, was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored... had an outstanding day offensively and defensively against Saint Louis on April 24... was 3-for-4 at the plate and threw out four runners trying to steal a bag... best game of the season came against Louisville on April 30... became only the ninth player in TCU history to hit three home runs in a game... was 3-for-4 with those three long balls and had six RBI on the night... average peeked at .254 following the game... had a season-long seven-game hit streak at the end of the year... hit safely in all six Conference USA Tournament games... threw out three would-be base stealers against No. 4 East Carolina on May 28 to help the Frogs advance... drove in the game-winning run in the Frogs come-from-behind win against Houston on May 29... picked up two RBI in the Frogs win over Youngstown State on June 5... was lights-out against left-handed pitchers... hit .393 on the season against lefties.
2003 (Sophomore): Saw time as a back-up catcher in nine games... made two starts... did not collect a hit in 12 plate appearances... scored only run of the season in a 16-6 TCU win over BYU on Mar. 8... first start of the season was against Baylor on Mar. 18... other start was on Apr. 22 at Baylor... drove in a run with a sacrifice fly on May 10 in a 20-15 win at Charlotte.
2002 (Freshman): Primarily used as TCU[apos]s third catcher... appeared in 18 games, starting nine behind the plate... notched two runs and two RBI in first-ever game, Mar. 4 vs. UT-Arlington... first-career hit was a solo home run against UTA... only other hits and runs of the season came with one each vs. Charlotte (Mar. 30) and UTA (May 14)... recorded one error in 50 chances behind the plate (.980 fielding pct.) while throwing out one base stealer and picking off another.
High School: Three-year starter at MacArthur High School in San Antonio... led Brahmas to first back-to-back district titles in school history, collecting three straight crowns, 99-01... was a three-time all-district and all-city honoree... twice named academic all-district and earned all-state plaudits from High School Baseball Coaches Association.
