FORT WORTH – TCU is back home to open the 2026 outdoor season at the Lowden Track and Field Complex, hosting the annual TCU High School Invitational and TCU Alumni Invitational March 19-21.
For the third straight year, the Horned Frogs will host the TCU High School Invitational, featuring some of the top high school talent in the DFW Metroplex. On Thursday, March 19, they welcome over 40 schools to their home track for a day of competition.
"We are extremely proud of the growth of the TCU High School Invitational," said director of track and field Khadevis Robinson. "In the first year we had eight schools, the second year we had twelve, and now we are hosting forty-two schools. That kind of growth shows that the meet is becoming something the high school track community values.
"For us, it is about more than just competition. It is about creating an opportunity for young athletes to compete on a high-level collegiate facility, experience the environment of a Division I program, and feel what it means to perform on a big stage. Seeing the meet grow the way it has tells us that the track and field community believes in what we are building here at TCU."
The High School Invitational is followed by the first meet of the 2026 outdoor season for the Frogs on March 20-21 – the fourth annual TCU Alumni Invitational.
"The Alumni Meet is very special to us because it reconnects the past with the present," said Robinson. "Our former athletes built this program. They set the standards, created the traditions, and helped establish the culture that our current athletes benefit from today.
"Bringing them back to campus allows them to see the growth of the program and reminds our current athletes that they are part of something bigger than themselves. It is about honoring the legacy of TCU Track & Field while continuing to build the future."
The field for this year's meet features teams from the Big 12, SEC, ACC, MAC, the American Conference, the SWAC, along with Division II, Division III, NAIA, junior colleges and even professional athletes.
"I think that level of diversity and competition says a lot about TCU Track & Field. Programs want to come here because they know they will get great competition and a well-run meet in a first-class facility. Hosting this type of field shows that TCU is becoming a destination for high-level track and field competition.
"Our goal is to create an environment where athletes from all levels can come together, compete at a high level, and elevate the sport. When you see this many conferences, divisions, and professional athletes all in one place, it reflects the strength of the meet and the reputation TCU Track & Field is building nationally."
Last year, TCU upgraded its track surface at the Lowden Track and Field Complex with a revolutionary Rekortan® Gel G13 System. This World Athletics-certified track from Rekortan®, a leader in track and field surface technology, reduces stress on the environment and the athlete.
Fans can catch all of the action this weekend at the Lowden Track and Field Complex. Admission to the meets is free for all fans. Parking is available in Lot 2 with shuttles running to the track through the duration of the meet.
