Strosnider homers twice and drives in eight

The Rundown
TCU scored in all six offensive innings, but had to rally as New Mexico State jumped out to a 5-1 lead. Sawyer Strosnider's double in the first gave TCU a 1-0 lead, but the Aggies had a response in the second. Two home runs in the inning, including a grand slam, put New Mexico State on top.
Â
The Frogs comeback started in the bottom of the second as it took advantage of an Aggie error to score three unearned runs. Cole Cramer tripled home two runs and scored on a Strosnider base hit to make it a 5-4 ballgame.
Â
New Mexico State homered again in the third, but the Frogs answered in the bottom of the frame to keep it a one-run ballgame. Two walks around a Colton Griffin base hit loaded the bases. Jack Bell worked the bases-loaded free pass to make it a 6-5 contest.
Â
TCU completed the comeback in the fourth with a trio of runs. Walks again set the table for the Frogs. Griffin tied the game with a two-out single and Lucas Franco gave the Frogs an 8-6 lead with a two-run base knock.
Â
Strosnider's two-run home run in the seventh extended the lead to 10-6. A six-spot followed in the sixth. Four walks started the inning and Bell drew his second bases-loaded walk of the game. Cramer followed with an RBI-single and Strosnider capped the scoring with a grand slam.
Â
The bullpen trio of Tyler Phenow, Zack James and Cade Nelson gave the Frogs 5 2/3 in relief of Uli Fernsler. Phenow fanned two and allowed a run in 1 1/3 innings of work. James (3-0) threw two scoreless as did Nelson.
