The Rundown
UCF raced out to an 8-0 lead in its first two offensive innings. A two-out single in the first put the Knights in front 1-0. Thirteen batters made their way to the plate in the second and seven came round to score.

TCU got on the board in the bottom of the second. Kyuss Gargett singled with one out. A defensive miscue in left on a Colton Griffin base knock allowed Gargett to score from first. UCF got the run back in the top of the fifth to make it a 9-1 ballgame.

The Horned Frogs didn't go quietly as they batted around in the fifth and scored five times to pull within three. A walk and back-to-back hits from Jack Bell and Cole Cramer loaded the bases with nobody out. The first run scored on a Sawyer Strosnider sacrifice fly. Hits from Chase Brunson and Nolan Traeger drove in two more runs. Griffin grounded out to drive in another run and Rob Liddington legged out an infield single to make it a 9-6 ballgame.

Strosnider's one-out home run in the sixth brought the Frogs within two, 9-7.

That was as close as the Frogs would get as UCF scored nine runs in the final two innings to put the game away. Mason Brassfield (2-2) took the loss after allowing eight runs on eight hits in 1 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked two.
