Franco tallies four hits in the game
The Rundown
TCU took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning. Brady Dallimore led off the inning with a base hit and scored on a two-out Lucas Franco single.
The Sun Devils sent 12 men to the plate in the third and scored nine times to break the game open. With one out, seven straight batters reached as ASU built a 5-1 lead. The big blow in the inning was a two-out grand slam.
TCU didn't go quietly, pushing across five runs in the top of the fourth. The first seven batters in the inning reached. Jack Arthur drove in the first run of the frame. Rob Liddington lined a bases-loaded single into left for two more runs. Sawyer Strosnider worked a bases-loaded walk forcing a pitching change. The reliever did his job, getting a double play and a ground out to end the inning.
Arizona State got an unearned run back in the fourth and added three more runs in the sixth on a pair of home runs. Another miscue in the seventh extended the Sun Devil lead to 14-6.
Jack Bell led off the eighth with his first home run of the season and Sawyer Strosnider drove in a two-out run to make it a 14-8. ASU's final run came on a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
Lance Davis (0-3) took the loss after allowing six runs on eight hits in 2 1/3 innings.
