TCU wraps up conference meet
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Nina Vadovicova earned a silver medal in the 200 breast as TCU ends its stay at the Big 12 Championships at Greensboro Aquatic Center
Overall for the week of competition, TCU set a total of 27 top-10 times and had eight top-three finishes at the Big 12 Championships. Three school records were broken curtesy of Edgar Cicanci in the 100 back, Molly Cullen in the 50 free and Peter Horton in the 100 free.
TCU finished 4th on the men's side with 934 points and came in 6th on the women's side with a total score of 733.
Nina Vadovicova, after securing the second-fastest time during the morning session, earned silver for TCU in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 2:09.47.
The men's women's and men's 400 free relay squads both set new top-10 times to close out the meet. The quartet of Molly Cullen, Avery Dillon, Josephine Brant and Hannah Wachendorfer touched the wall in 3:20.45 to grab the fourth-fastest time in school history. On the men's side, Peter Horton, Viktor Hristov, Quint Erwin and Luka Cavic came in at 2:54.50 for the fifth-best time in school history and fourth overall.
Edgar Cicanci, Filip Suchanski and Paige Taber earned nods to the A final of the 200 back, while Felipe Goncalves secured a spot as well in the 200 breast.
Cullen set a new personal best in the 100 free in both prelims in finals today. After booking her trip to the consolation final, Molly threw down a 49.52 to clinch her spot at fourth in school history for the event and win the consolation final.
Horton on the men's side of the 100 free would also post an impressive performance in the 100 free consolation final, touching the wall in 43.13 to come in second.
