
TCU Concludes Sterkel Classic

Horned Frogs participate in final tune up before Big 12 Championships
AUSTIN, Texas – In the final competition for the TCU swimming and diving team in the month of January, the Frogs earned numerous victories and top-three finishes on Saturday afternoon at Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Edgar Cicanci, Nikola Koltin, Seanna Muhitch, Sydney Inman, Peter Horton, Taylor Steelman and Emma Larcada Herrera were the TCU representatives who earned victories throughout today's meet. A total of one new top-10 mark was set, as Larcada Herrera did so with her victory on 3-meter.
The first top-three finish for TCU came in the 400 IM, as Inman finished third with a 4:23.59. The Frogs would then earn another impressive performance in the 100 back with Edgar Cicanci placing atop the podium with a mark of 46.76.
The men's 200 breast saw Nikola Koltin (1:58.89) place first and Felipe Goncalves (2:00.98) take third. In the next event, Seanna Muhitch would touch the wall in 5:07.19 to win the 500 free. The men's rendition of this event would see Luka Cavic (4:29.14) and Max Zinn (4:36.60) grab the second and third spots on the leaderboard.
Aaron Wilmes would throw down a 15:28.83 to secure a third-place result in the 1650 free. The trio of Inman (2:05.15), Stella Todd (2:05.84) and Nicole Christensen would notch the top-three times in the 200 IM to give the Frogs some momentum heading into the final events.
The momentum was capitalized upon, as freshman Avery Dillon would start things out and place third in the 100 free with a 50.66. Horton would then go on to win the men's portion of the event, touching the wall in 43.71 while teammate Nick Rozenberg tallied third with a 45.39.
Amanda Ulicny (2:06.77) and Inge Ehm (2:07.61) earned top-three marks in the 200 fly. In the final individual event of the day, Steelman won the 200 back with a 1:59.79 while Cicanci also earned a victory in the event, throwing down a 1:44.46. Filip Suchanski finished right behind him in second place with a time of 1:46.41.
In diving Emma Larcada Herrera was the star of the show, earning victories on 1-meter (292.35) and 3-meter (325.90). Her 3-meter result was good enough to set a new personal best and secure the fifth-best score in program history. On 1-meter, Odessa Kack (281.80) and Lauren Cey (273.00) also earned spots on the podium to give TCU the top three finishers in the event.
