First round matches moved to Friday; Frogs face UT Arlington at 2 p.m.
FORT WORTH – The Fort Worth Regional schedule for ITA Kickoff Weekend underwent multiple changes due to the impending winter storm set to hit central Texas.
First round matches have been moved up one day and will now be played on Friday, Jan. 23 at the indoor Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Additionally, UT Arlington has replaced Tulsa as the No. 4 seed in the regional.
TCU now faces the Mavericks at 2 p.m. on Friday. Preceding the fifth-ranked Horned Frogs' dual is an 11 a.m. match between No. 2 seed Georgia and No. 3 seed Boise State.
The start date and times for the championship and consolation matches will be determined later. Tuesday, Jan. 27 was added as an additional makeup day should the inclement weather persist.
The Fort Worth Regional champion clinches one of 14 berths to the ITA Indoor National Championships, hosted by Baylor and SMU from Feb. 13-17.
TCU is set to host ITA Kickoff Weekend for the 11th consecutive season. The Frogs (2-1) have advanced to the ITA Indoor National Championships in seven consecutive seasons and challenged for four straight indoor national titles. TCU won back-to-back indoor national championships in 2022 and 2023 and is one of only three programs in the 52-year history of the event to reach the championship match in four straight seasons.
