TCU Earns Senior Day Victories Over Texas Permian Basin

Horned Frogs capture third sweep in a row
FORT WORTH – In a Saturday showdown at the TCU Recreational Center, the TCU swimming and diving team grabbed a pair of wins over Texas Permian Basin to earn the team's third win in a row.
The women's side won 228-51, and the men posted a 215-76 victory over UTPB. TCU won all but one event for the day. A total of 31 out of 32 events had a TCU representative atop the leaderboards at the conclusion of the meet.
TCU started out the day with a pair of wins in the 200 medley relay. The women's squad of Taylor Steelman, Giorgia Vavalle, Aubrey Finn and Hannah Wachendorfer posted a time of 1:45.58 and the men's side of Edgar Cicanci, Colin Clough, Nigel Forbes and Charlie Bishop touched the wall in 1:30.45.
Amelia Snyder captured the win in the 1000 free after clocking a10:38.42. Deacon Gutshall followed with an effort of 9:33.61 to secure the second of many event sweeps for the Frogs. Sydney Inman captured the win in the 200 free with a 1:53.95 and Luka Cavic joined in on the fun with a 1:41.80.
Finn touched the wall in 57.77 to win the 100 back, and Cicanci notched a 48.36 to earn each of them their second wins of the day in the opening moments of the match. Vavalle (1:06.54) would soon add her second triumph on the day in the 100 breast, and Nikola Koltin gave TCU another swimmer atop the podium with a 56.64 effort.
Stella Todd (2:09.79) would be the Frogs' lone victor for the 200 fly, clocking a 2:09.79. Heading into the first break, Molly Cullen blazed to a 23.68 for a win in the 50 free and Horton posted a 20.13 to create some positive momentum for the Frogs.
In diving, David Ekdahl shined on the day, earning wins on both 1-meter and 3-meter. On 1-meter, the reigning Big 12 Diver of the Week scored the 370.95 to secure the victory and on 3-meter had an impressive 414.90 to round out his dominant day on the boards. On the women's side, Lauren Cey (282.75) earned a triumph on 1-meter and Emma Larcada Herrera (300.98) grabbed a win on 3-meter with a 300.98.
Coming out of the break, Avery Dillon had a 52.57 to win the 100 free, and Viktor Hristov threw down a 45.17 to secure the event sweep. Audrey Worgull (2:04.89) and Cicanci (1:48.43) posted wins on the 200 back as well.
In the 200 breast, Vavalle collected another win with a 2:22.06 effort, and Koltin threw down a 2:04.86 to grab his second victory of the day. Steelman (5:08.99) and Filip Suchanski (4:41.41) earned triumphs in the 500 free as the individual events started to dwindle down for the day.
Morgan Gore won the 100 fly with a time of 57.36, and Quint Erwin followed with a 49.93. In the final individual event of the day, Nicole Christensen (4:34.58) and Braedon Ando (4:06.66) won the 400 IM.
The women's 200 free relay squad of Lexi Drap, Finn, Gore and Cullen touched the wall in 1:36.98 to grab the win. To close out the meet, Suchanski, Hristov, Cavic and Nick Rozenberg notched a 1:24.08 to grab the final event sweep of the day.
