
Horned Frogs in Third Ahead of Final Round of Carmel Cup

Angosta, Min-Gaultier tied for fifth at one-under
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – On moving day at the Carmel Cup, TCU put itself in position to challenge for a vice championship.
The 24th-ranked Horned Frogs carded a five-over 365 on Saturday at Pebble Beach Golf Links. TCU ascended two spots up the leaderboard and into third place. The Frogs trail No. 11 Vanderbilt by one stroke with 18 holes remaining.
Only tournament leader Texas A&M, tabbed No. 7 in the Golfweek preseason rankings, posted a better day two score than the Horned Frogs. The Aggies hold a 24-stroke lead entering Sunday's final round.
TCU's 36-hole score stands at 16-over (736).
The eight-team affair, which features six preseason top-25 teams, is hardly decided. Only 10 strokes separate the Commodores from last place Oklahoma (+25, 745).
The Horned Frogs one of only two teams alongside the Aggies with two players featuring in the top-five of the individual leaderboard. Camille Min-Gaultier and Kirstin Angosta are tied for fifth at one-under (143). Angosta posted her second consecutive par-or-better scorecard in round two, shooting an even 72.
The TCU tandem sit four strokes back of tournament leader Vanessa Borovilos of Texas A&M.
The star of the show on Saturday, though, was Yvette O'Brien. On the heels of a challenging collegiate debut, the freshman turned in a one-under 71 to ignite TCU's rise. O'Brien rattled off three consecutive birdies on holes five through seven. She parred nine of her 11 remaining holes.
From Greenwich, Connecticut, O'Brien notched an eight-stroke improvement from round one. She vaulted 17 places into a tie for 27th at six-over.
O'Brien was one of three Frogs in the red on the front nine. Angosta and Gracie McGovern made the turn at one-under (35).
Angosta is the lone player in TCU's lineup who has scored par-or-better in both rounds. A birdie on the 18th green secured her even finish.
The junior continued her affinity for fall golf. Angosta, from Coppell, Texas, has shot even or under par in 11 of her last 16 rounds during the autumn portion of the college golf schedule.
Min-Gaultier and Sofia Barroso Sá each parred the notoriously difficult back nine.
A 2025 All-American, Min-Gaultier was one-under over her final 10 holes.
Barroso Sá is tied for 17th after shooting a second consecutive 72 (+2). The senior matched Angosta and O'Brien for the team-lead in birdies.
Gracie McGovern rounded out TCU's countable scoring with a three-over 75. She trimmed her scorecard by three strokes from round one and remains tied for 35th at eight-over (153).
Angosta and Min-Gaultier will each notch their fourth career top-five finish should they maintain their positions.
TCU is aiming for its sixth top-three finish in its last 13 events dating back to 2024.
Sunday's final round commences at 9:45 a.m. CT, with the Horned Frogs set to tee off in nine-minute intervals on hole one. TCU is paired with Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and No. 10 Arkansas.
