FORT WORTH – The Horned Frogs won their first transfer portal prize of the offseason on Tuesday, signing Texas A&M guard Taliyah Parker to their roster for 2025-26.
Parker averaged 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals across 18 minutes per game as a freshman for the Aggies this past season. She appeared in each of Texas A&M's first 21 games before missing the final month of the season due to injury.
The 6-1 Parker starred at nearby South Grand Prairie High School. She was among the most heralded prep prospects in the Lone Star State in the class of 2024. Parker was graded the nation's No. 60 overall recruit and No. 6 player in Texas in the ESPN HoopGurlz recruiting rankings. Parker led South Grand Prairie to the 2024 UIL 6A State Championship game and a 33-4 record her senior year.
Parker scored in double figures on four occasions in her lone season in College Station. She finished with a career-high 14 points on 6-9 shooting and career-best five rebounds in an Aggie victory over Syracuse in December. Parker scored seven-or-more points in four of her final six games in SEC play, including 13 at LSU on Jan. 26. She paired 10 points with a career-high four assists in a nonconference win vs. Western Michigan in her third collegiate outing.
As a high school senior, Parker averaged 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game across South Grand Parairie's run to the state championship. Parker was a Class 6A All-State team selection by the Texas Associations of Basketball Coaches (TABC). She earned 2022-23 6A All-Region team honors her junior year despite being sidelined for the bulk of the season due to injury. Parker also participated in 2021 USA Basketball Women's U16 Team Trials.
Parker joins fall signees Clara Bielefeld, Emily Hunter and Sarah Portlock as newcomers for next season.
