
TCU’s Win Streak Snapped At UTA

Strosnider and Bowen homer for TCU
FORT WORTH – UT Arlington scored three times in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie and held on for the 6-4 win, snapping TCU's six-game winning streak. Sawyer Strosnider led TCU with a four-hit game which included his eighth home run of the season.
The Rundown
TCU opened the scoring with a run in the first. Chase Brunson led off the inning with a base hit. An error in the outfield allowed Brunson to make it to third with nobody out. Isaac Cadena hit a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.
The Mavericks tied the game with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the inning and took a 2-1 lead on a two-out base knock in the third.
TCU and UTA traded runs in the fifth. Karson Bowen's two-out home run tied the game. Another two-out single for UTA gave the Mavericks back the one-run edge, 3-2. Sawyer Strosnider's lead-off home run in the sixth tied the game at three.
In the decisive seventh inning, the first three Mavericks reached. With two on and nobody out, a bunt attempt was thrown down the right field line allowing two runs to score. The batter reached third and scored on a wild pitch for a 6-3 lead. The Frogs picked up a two-run in the eighth on a Noah Franco base hit, but left the tying runs on base.
Zack James started and allowed two runs on four hits in 2 2/3 innings. Trever Baumler (2-3) took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits. He struck out two.
