
LaPour Leads Frogs Past Baylor

Sophomore tosses career-high 8 2/3 innings
FORT WORTH – Tommy LaPour dominated for 8 2/3 innings to guide TCU to a 7-2 win over Baylor Friday night at Lupton Stadium. Offensively, he was backed by Cole Cramer who finished the night 3-for-4 with a home run and four runs scored.
The Rundown
Tommy LaPour (7-2) allowed two runs on five hits, walked three and struck out eight over 8 2/3 innings. After a lead-off hit in the fourth, LaPour retired 15 straight to get the game into the ninth. The Bears picked up a run on a hit and three walks in the ninth before Kade Eudy took over. The freshman retired the only batter he faced to collect the save.
TCU struck for four runs in the first helped along by three walks, a hit batter and an error. Two hits and a walk loaded the bases with nobody out. Chase Brunson was hit by a pitch to drive in the first run of the game. Nolan Traeger worked a bases-loaded walk for a 2-0 lead. Jack Arthur beat out a double-play ball, but an error on the throw to first allowed two more runs to score.
The teams traded runs in the second. Baylor's run came on two hits, while Brunson collected his second RBI of the night with a ground out.
TCU added runs in the sixth and eighth to account for the final score. Traeger drove in a run in the sixth and Cramer hit his third home run of the season in the eight.
