Strosnider and Franco combine four seven hits
The Rundown
Caedmon Parker (3-1) was outstanding in his six innings of work, holding Baylor to a run on two hits. He walked one and struck out four. He retired the side in order in three of the six innings and faced more than four just once.
The offense staked Parker to a lead in the second. Chase Brunson reached on a two base error to open the inning and scored on an Anthony Silva sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.
Jack Arthur led off the fourth with a home run. With two outs and a runner on, four straight Frogs reached. Karson Bowen scored on a wild pitch and Noah Franco delivered an RBI single to make it a 4-0 ballgame.
In the fifth, TCU answered a Baylor run in the top of the inning with three of its own to open up a 7-1 lead. Silva tripled and scored on a Jack Bell base hit. With the bases loaded, Franco singled off the top of the wall in right to drive in two more.
Baylor struck for a trio of two-out runs in the eighth, but Louis Rodriguez took over and got a strike out to end the inning without further damage. After drawing a lead-off walk, Brunson scored on a two-out double from Silva to account for the final score.
Rodriguez ultimately faced four batters and struck out all four to earn his first save of the season.
