Wilt Finishes as Runner-Up at Mountaineer Invitational

TCU places sixth as a team
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Freshman Hudson Wilt was runner-up at the Mountaineer Invitational on Tuesday at Pete Dye Golf Club.
Participants battled weather elements all tournament long with a few stoppages of play as storms rolled through West Virginia. Wilt followed an opening-round 5-under 67 with rounds of 2-over 74 and 5-over 77. It was his second-straight tournament leading the Horned Frogs in scoring, but his first top five finish with a score of 2-over 218.
Eric Lee (-6) of Oklahoma State won the tournament. Wilt finished one stroke ahead of No. 10 ranked Ethan Fang of OSU.
Joining Wilt in the top part of the leaderboard was Joe Pagdin who shot 4-over 220 and placed tied for fifth, his second-best finish of the year.
The older brother of Hudson Wilt, Toby Wilt snagged his first top 20 finish of the season. The junior was 10-over 227 and tied for 19th place.
Freshman Charlie Wylie was one behind Wilt at 11-over 227 and finished just outside the top 20 at 21st place.
As a team, TCU finished in sixth place at 46-over. Only tournament champion No. 4 Oklahoma State (E) did not finish at least 20 strokes over par.
The Horned Frogs will next compete at the Big 12 Championship, held April 22-24 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
