
Early Runs Propel TCU To Third Straight Win

Five Horned Frogs tally double-digit hits
The Rundown
TCU exploded for five runs on seven hits in the first. Chase Brunson put the Frogs on top 2-0 with a double to right center. With two outs and runners on the corners, Sam Myers bounced a single up the middle to drive in another run. Karson Bowen singled and Sawyer Strosnider doubled to drive in the final two runs of the frame.
Three more runs crossed the plate in the second. Colton Griffin opened the inning with a home run. With Isaac Cadena standing on second, Brunson singled to left center to drive in his third run of the game. A Nolan Traeger double pushed the lead to 8-0.
TCU took advantage of a lead-off error in the fifth to make it a 9-0 lead. Bowen singled to drive in his second run of the game.
Fresno State cut into the deficit with three runs in the seventh. The outburst was aided by a one-out error that ultimately led to a pair of unearned runs. A two-out home run in the eighth accounted for the final score.
Caedmon Parker started and threw four scoreless frames. He allowed just three hits in the no-decision. Trey Newmann (1-0) picked up his first win at TCU with 2 1/3 innings of work. He allowed three runs (two earned), walked one and struck out three. Kaden Smith registered two outs, while Kade Eudy and Cohen Feser closed out the game with an inning of work each.
