Pinnington and Maxted go 2-0 on the day
FORT WORTH - The No. 2 ranked TCU men's tennis team swept Arizona State, 4-0 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Horned Frogs clinched the doubles point and earned wins on courts one, two and three to obtain the 4-0 victory.
"Good win by the boys today over Arizona State" said head coach David Roditi. "Always love competing against them, they are such a classy program and well coached. It was a battle. Proud of the guys, now we get to go on the road against BYU and Utah. It will be tough because of altitude, we will have to change some things but we will be ready. Go Frogs!"
The Rundown
Pedro Vives and Lui Maxted, the No. 1 ranked doubles pair in America, improved to 12-1 in 2025 as they took down Nicola Cigna and Roi Ginat. Maxted and Vives rolled on court one winning, 6-2.
The Frogs clinched the doubles point as the No. 56 ranked doubles pair of Jack Pinnington and Cooper Woestendick earned their eighth win as a pair as they earned the win on two. The pair took down Tanner Povey and Matic Dimic with a score of 6-4.
In singles, the Frogs kept their momentum going as they won five of the first six sets.
No. 15 Pinnington earned his seventh ranked win of the season as he knocked off No. 110 Mathis Bondaz in straight sets winning both sets with a score of 6-4. Pinnington is now 8-4 in 2025 and has played every one of those matches on court one.
Maxted, the 20th ranked player in the latest ITA singles rankings, earned his ninth win of 2025 as he won in straight sets over Nicola Cigna. Maxted took the first set, 6-4 and then won the second set 6-4 as well.
Freshman Albert Pedrico clinched the match for the Frogs with his win on three. Pedrico took down Constantinos Koshis with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
