Strosnider homers twice and drives in six
LUBBOCK, Texas – Sawyer Strosnider's three hits on the day produced a pair of home runs and six runs driven in as TCU rallied for a 9-5 11-inning victory over Texas Tech Sunday afternoon at Rip Griffin Park.
The Rundown
TCU completed its comeback from a 4-1 deficit with two runs in the seventh, tying the game at five. Sawyer Strosnider's two-run home run tied the game. Kade Eudy worked around a couple base runners in the seventh and ninth to send the game to extra innings.
In the 11th, the Frogs struck for four runs on five hits. Jack Bell led off the inning with a base hit. Strosnider's second home run of the game gave the Horned Frogs a 7-5 lead. With two outs, Noah Franco doubled and scored on a Chase Brunson double. Karson Bowen capped the scoring with with a base hit.
After falling behind 4-1 in the third, the Frogs started the climb out of the hole in the fourth. Strosnider made it a 4-3 game with a two-out, two-run single.
Texas Tech's bid for a fifth run was cutdown at the plate in the fifth as the relay throw home from Anthony Silva was right on target to Nolan Traeger to get the runner at home. The Red Raiders did get the fifth run in the sixth on a two-out base hit.
Kole Klecker started and allowed four runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. Mason Brassfield surrendered an unearned run on five hits. He walked two and struck out two in 3 2/3 innings. Kade Eudy turned in three scoreless innings and Gianluca Shinn (1-0) tossed a scoreless 10th. Louis Rodriguez fanned two in a scoreless 11th inning of work.
