
TCU Falls at West Virginia, 73-55

White leads the Frogs with 11 points
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – TCU dropped its second-straight road game, 73-55 on Tuesday at West Virginia.
The Horned Frogs (15-13, 8-9) got out to a 5-0 lead after opening buckets by Vasean Allette and Brendan Wenzel. The Mountaineers (17-11, 8-9) then scored the next 18 points over the next eight minutes to take an 18-5 with 9:50 left in the first half.
After trailing by 22 points, TCU scored the final seven points of the half and trailed 42-27 at the break. WVU shot 58.6 percent from the field in the first half.
Trazarien White hit TCU's first 3-pointer of the game with his first shot attempt of the second half. White led the Frogs in scoring with 11 points.
With 8:12 remaining, TCU went on a 10-0 run which included six points coming from redshirt freshman Jace Posey who finished with nine off the bench. The run cut the deficit to 62-53 with 5:33 to play.
The Horned Frogs scored two points for the remainder of the game going 0-for-8 from the field over that time.
West Virginia, which shot 51.9 percent from the field, including 42.3 percent (11-of-26) from 3-point range was led by Javon Small. The Big 12's second-leading scorer finished with 23 points and 10 assists. He was 6-of-11 from 3-point range.
TCU will return to action on Saturday at 3 p.m. when it hosts UCF. The game will air on ESPN+.
TEAM NOTES
- TCU dropped to 8-19 all-time against West Virginia.
- Jamie Dixon moved to 20-17 all-time against the Mountaineers and is his most played opponent. It's also Dixon's most wins against an opponent.
- TCU moved to 2-8 on the road.
- West Virginia's 11 3-pointers made were the second most against TCU this season.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Trazarien White scored 11 points. It was his third-straight game scoring in double figures.
- White was 1-of-4 from 3-point range. It was his seventh-straight game with a made 3-pointer.
- Vasean Allette led the team in assists for the eighth time this season with four.
- Malick Diallo tied his conference high with six rebounds to go with six points.
